These cinnamon French toast sticks are my weekend-breakfast hack that tastes like dessert but eats like a protein shake. Thick slices of whole-wheat bread get cut into dunkable sticks, soaked in a custard of eggs, egg whites and blended cottage cheese — that's the secret to 32 grams of protein — with vanilla and a heavy hand of cinnamon. They fry up golden and crisp in a lightly oiled pan, and dusting them with cinnamon sugar makes the edges shatter just a little. Each serving lands at 380 calories. They're done in 22 minutes, reheat beautifully in the toaster, and my berries-and-maple topping makes them feel like a café order.
