Your BMI (Body Mass Index) is the quickest way to see whether your weight falls in a healthy range. NutriCounter's BMI Calculator does the math instantly and shows your healthy weight range — here is how to use it.

Step 1: Enter your height and weight

Open the BMI Calculator and enter your height (in cm or feet/inches) and weight (in kg or lbs). The tool converts units automatically, so use whichever you are comfortable with. For the most accurate result, weigh yourself in the morning before eating.

Step 2: Read your BMI number

Your BMI appears instantly, calculated as weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². For example, 75 kg at 1.80 m gives 23.1. The tool also shows which WHO category you fall into:

  • Below 18.5 — Underweight
  • 18.5–24.9 — Normal (the healthy zone)
  • 25–29.9 — Overweight
  • 30 and above — Obese

Step 3: Check your healthy weight range

Below your BMI, the calculator shows the healthy weight range for your height — the span of weights that would put your BMI between 18.5 and 24.9. This is more useful than the single number: it gives you a concrete target zone to aim for.

Step 4: Turn it into a plan

BMI tells you where you are; the next step is deciding where to go. If your BMI is above the healthy range, use the BMR & TDEE Calculator to find your daily calorie target, then track your food with the Meal Log. If you are in the normal range, the Daily Tracker helps you stay there. Remember: BMI is a screening tool — athletes with high muscle mass can score as "overweight" while being perfectly healthy.

FAQs

What is a good BMI?
A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered the healthy range by the WHO. That said, BMI does not distinguish muscle from fat, so very muscular people may have a higher BMI while being healthy.
How accurate is the BMI calculator?
The formula itself is exact — it is simple division. What matters is accurate height and weight input. Weigh yourself in the morning for consistency, and measure your height without shoes.
Should I worry if my BMI is slightly over 25?
A BMI just over 25 is a signal to pay attention, not a diagnosis. Look at the trend over time, your waist circumference, and how you feel. Small, steady lifestyle changes — tracked with our Meal Log and Daily Tracker — move the number in the right direction.
